War of 1812 Fort McHenry – Photo #3

Photo #3 comes from a collection of photograghs taken in December 2007 at Fort McHenry in Baltimore, MD.  I was able to sneak a day off of work and go to one of my favorite places in my hometown to take a few photos.  Not having been there in a few years, I was amazed at the changes that had taken place.  Several of the barracks have been renovated.  In one of the barracks there are bunks and desks arranged to reflect the life of a soldier during the War of 1812.  When I look at this picture I can imagine the soldier (I assume someone of rank) sitting in solitude to record the events of the day – most likely battling the British fleet trying to enter the Port of Baltimore.  I’ve had this image stored on my hard drive for a long time.  I’m happy to be able to share it with you now.

I hope you enjoy it.

About Jerry Harrison's Photo blog

Just sharing images I've taken that I think are worth sharing, and a little of the story behind them. What is a photo worth if you don't know why it was taken.
